The Sony Imaging Desktop Remote tethering software appears to be my best option at this point.

Perhaps Sony proprietary technology gets in the way of better integration to Capture One and Smart Shooter. No need to move between the camera on copy stand and back to PC, screen and keyboard.

Manual focus in Sony Remote works within the software sitting at the keyboard, with options to enlarge the view in Live View to different selectable magnification amounts. So, from photo capture in Sony Remote software, the image goes to a folder monitored by Lightroom and is automatically imported.
